About the Calligrapher

Ms. Halima Bashir is a Nigerian-British calligrapher with a Master’s with Distinction from The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London. A lecturer of Islamic Art at Stewards.ONE, Halima specialises in West African calligraphy and has received expert training in Riqa’a, Thuluth, and Sudani scripts. She also brings a unique blend of artistry with her background in classical Latin scripts like Copperplate, Italic, and Uncial. Her diverse skills and dedication bring unparalleled mastery to each of her works, making every piece a reflection of her deep understanding of both traditional and contemporary calligraphy.
