    Description

The Year 9 Bridge Program at Stewards.ONE is a specially designed initiative for home-educated students who are transitioning into full-time education. Recognising the unique challenges that many home-educated students face—such as learning gaps, slower work pace, and inconsistencies in foundational subjects like English and Maths—this program offers targeted support to help students bridge these gaps and acclimate to the structure and rigor of a full-time academic environment.

International GCSE (IGCSE) and high school studies require not only a strong academic foundation but also disciplined study habits and the ability to master essential subjects. The Bridge Program addresses these needs by providing a well-crafted curriculum that is tailored to assess and elevate each student’s current proficiency level, particularly in Maths and English. Our approach is focused on raising fluency and ensuring that students achieve the necessary competencies to succeed in their future studies.

In addition to core subjects, the Year 9 Bridge Program offers a broad curriculum that includes Character Building, providing students with the moral and ethical framework that is integral to their overall development. Below is a full list of subjects included in Year 9 IGCSE Bridge:

Morning Dhikr: Each day begins with morning dhikr promoting God consciousness.

    Core Academic Subjects:

    • English Language: Developing essential language skills, emphasising reading, writing, and comprehension to ensure strong communication abilities.
    • Mathematics: Strengthening numeracy, problem-solving, and logical thinking, preparing students for advanced mathematical concepts.
    • IGCSE Science: Providing a solid foundation in scientific principles and critical thinking, essential for higher-level science courses.

Islamic Art: Students delve into the rich traditions of Islamic art, fostering creativity and an appreciation for cultural heritage. This course encourages artistic expression and a deeper understanding of Islamic culture.

DeVice (First Term Only): This innovative course empowers students to take control of their digital device usage. Through activities, discussions, and coaching, students learn to use technology wisely and develop effective time management skills, promoting a healthier relationship with technology.

Arabic Level 2: Enhancing communication skills and cultural awareness through advanced Arabic language studies. This course builds on prior knowledge to improve fluency and comprehension.

Character Building: The essence of religion, this course brings Islamic teachings to life through an interactive approach. Students explore Aqidatul Awaam, Seerah, and Jurisprudence (Fiqh), receiving life coaching tailored for boys and girls. This comprehensive personal development program promotes moral and ethical growth, helping students navigate the challenges of adolescence.

Quran Memorisation: Focused on the memorisation of Surahs recommended by the Prophet (SAW), this course enhances spiritual growth and discipline. Students develop a closer connection to the Quran and improve their recitation skills.

Parental Collaboration: This period is reserved for parents to engage their children in community activities or subjects they lead themselves. We recommend involving children in prophetic sports such as archery, wrestling, and sewing. Stewards also organises enrichment courses nationwide for parents to subscribe to, fostering a strong home-school partnership.

Guided Research Project (Second Term): Students engage in specialised research projects, choosing from fields such as Martial Arts, Islamic Art, Architecture, Building & Construction, Health Sciences, Decentralised Computing, Agriculture & Farming, Economics, Finance & Politics, and Environment & Sustainability Living. This component fosters independent learning and critical thinking.

Cost: £3,950 per year, payable in 10 monthly instalments of £395.00.

    Requirements

    • Age Requirement: Students must be between 12 and 14 years old at the start of the program.
    • Assessment of Academic Gaps: Optional completion of an academic assessment to identify areas where the student needs improvement to ensure the program can effectively bridge these gaps.
    • Basic Literacy and Numeracy: Demonstrated proficiency in basic literacy and numeracy skills, suitable for a KS3 level, to ensure the student can keep up with the curriculum.
    • Parental Commitment: Parents must commit to active participation in the Parental Collaboration component, which includes engaging in community activities and prophetic sports with their child
