Throughout the year, students explore topics such as cell biology, ecosystems, chemical reactions, and forces, while developing their scientific inquiry and data analysis abilities. Emphasizing hands-on learning and critical thinking, the course prepares students for more advanced studies by fostering a solid understanding of basic scientific principles and methodologies.

The course content includes:

 Term 1: Introduction to Science and Basic Concepts

  • Biology: Cells, tissues, organs, and the basics of human biology.
  • Chemistry: Particles and their behavior, introduction to elements, compounds, and mixtures.
  • Physics: Forces, motion, and basic energy concepts.
  • Scientific Skills: Safety in the lab, scientific methods, and data handling.

Term 2: Expanding Knowledge and Practical Skills

  • Biology: Ecosystems, food chains, and adaptations of living organisms.
  • Chemistry: Chemical reactions, acids and bases, and the basics of the periodic table.
  • Physics: Light, sound, and simple electrical circuits.
  • Scientific Skills: Conducting experiments, recording results, and drawing conclusions.

Term 3: Application and Synthesis

  • Biology: Reproduction in plants and animals, human health and disease.
  • Chemistry: Separation techniques, states of matter, and environmental chemistry.
  • Physics: Magnetism, more complex energy transfers, and introductory astronomy.
