    Welcome to the Year 7 Science course at Stewards.ONE, delivered entirely online and aligned with the UK National Curriculum.

    The Science curriculum offers a comprehensive introduction to fundamental scientific concepts and practical skills across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Throughout the year, students explore topics such as cell biology, ecosystems, chemical reactions, and forces, while developing their scientific inquiry and data analysis abilities. Emphasizing hands-on learning and critical thinking, the course prepares students for more advanced studies by fostering a solid understanding of basic scientific principles and methodologies.

    The course content includes:

    Ā Term 1: Introduction to Science and Basic Concepts

    • Biology: Cells, tissues, organs, and the basics of human biology.
    • Chemistry: Particles and their behavior, introduction to elements, compounds, and mixtures.
    • Physics: Forces, motion, and basic energy concepts.
    • Scientific Skills: Safety in the lab, scientific methods, and data handling.

    Term 2: Expanding Knowledge and Practical Skills

    • Biology: Ecosystems, food chains, and adaptations of living organisms.
    • Chemistry: Chemical reactions, acids and bases, and the basics of the periodic table.
    • Physics: Light, sound, and simple electrical circuits.
    • Scientific Skills: Conducting experiments, recording results, and drawing conclusions.

    Term 3: Application and Synthesis

    • Biology: Reproduction in plants and animals, human health and disease.
    • Chemistry: Separation techniques, states of matter, and environmental chemistry.
    • Physics: Magnetism, more complex energy transfers, and introductory astronomy.
    • Scientific Skills: Investigative projects, critical thinking, and application of scientific knowledge.

    Cost: Ā£550 per year, payable in 10 monthly instalments of Ā£55.00.

    Requirements

    • Age Group: This course is designed for students aged 10-12 years.
    • Prerequisites: Basic Literacy, Fundamental Math Skills, Basic Scientific Knowledge, Basic Observation Skills, Curiosity and Interest.
    • Materials: Basic school supplies such as a notebook, pens, pencils, and a computer or tablet with internet access for accessing online resources and completing assignments.
    • Commitment: Regular participation in lessons, completion of assignments, and active engagement in practical activities and discussions
