Key Objectives

  • Provide children in homeschooling communities with an education in hands on and creative ā€˜left-brainā€™ subjects which can complement their academic studies. In doing so, offering students the space to channel and express their ideas and creativity.
  • Facilitate in-person group learning with students of similar ages where thoughts and ideas are valued and can be exchanged in a creative and collaborative environment.
  • Create the conditions and experiences for students to learn, experiment and be inspired across a broad spectrum of different art forms and creative industries.
  • Bridge the gap between home learning and readiness for GCSE level or equivalent should students want to pursue further education and careers in creative subjects. To enable this, students will develop a portfolio of their work to demonstrate and record their progress.
  • Support students with the behaviours required to be successful in creative subjects (and life in general) such as divergent thinking, resilience, and reframing.
  • The course includes

  • A comprehensive curriculum aligned to the KS3 standards.
  • Student feedback and grade reports.
  • A parent meeting to discuss progress.
  • An opportunity for students to learn practical application of Maths and Physics within design.
