    This Course Includes

    • 24 live interactive sessions (1 session per week over 6 months).
    • Engaging lessons covering:
      • Yoruba alphabet and pronunciation.
      • Counting in Yoruba (1–120).
      • Common nouns, borrowed words, and multi-syllable words.
      • Sentence construction and conversational Yoruba.
      • Moral values and folktales (Ìtàn Àròsọ).
    • Fun activities like songs, rhymes, and cultural storytelling to reinforce learning.
    • Access to recorded sessions for review and practice.

    Module 1: Foundations in Yoruba

    • Introduction to Yoruba alphabet (Fáwẹ̀lí àti Kóńsónàǹtì).
    • Syllable formation and word construction.
    • Counting in Yoruba: From 1 to 120.

    Module 2: Everyday Conversations

    • Common greetings and polite expressions.
    • Asking and answering questions in Yoruba (Ìbéèrè àti Ìdáhùn).
    • Yoruba weather terms and daily expressions.

    Module 3: Cultural and Moral Values

    • Folktales and storytelling (Ìtàn Àròsọ: e.g., Ìdì ti Ẹlẹdẹ fi ń fimu tú ilẹ̀).
    • Yoruba poems for children (Èwì ọmọde).
    • Exploring moral values: Ìwà Ọmọlúàbí (good character).

    Module 4: Grammar and Reading

    • Introduction to nouns (Ọ̀rọ̀ Orúkọ) and conjunctions (Ọ̀rọ̀ Àsopọ̀).
    • Reading practice with Yoruba stories and fables (Ìjàpá, Asín, àti Ọ̀kèrè).

    Nimota Ajoke Oyatayo is a passionate and dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching Yoruba language and literature. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Yoruba Language Education (Second Class Upper) from Tai Solarin University of Education, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Yoruba Literature at Obafemi Awolowo University.

    Nimota’s teaching journey includes roles at prominent institutions such as Living Spring Covenant School in Lagos, where she serves as a Yoruba Language and Civic Education teacher. Her previous experience also includes administrative roles and teaching practice at Nawai-ru-deen Grammar School and Emmanuel Alayande College of Education.

    Nimota is skilled at creating engaging and interactive learning environments that inspire students to appreciate and excel in the Yoruba language. Her teaching philosophy emphasises a logical and analytical approach to learning, which help build students’ confidence and communication skills.
